The Canadian Holiday Train a travelling light festival with entertainment will continue on its journey north in Ontario starting November 27-December 3, 2011 with visits to Merrickville, Smith Falls, Perth, Midhurst (Barrie Area), Mactier (Muskoka area), Parry Sound, Sudbury, Chapleau,continuing across northern Ontario finishing up visiting the regions of North Western Ontario in the towns of Nipigon, Thunder Bay, Dryden, Vermillion Bay and Kenora. Christmas Lights Across Canada’s Capital Region
December 1, 2011 - January 7, 2012Parliament Hill, 20 NCC sites and over 60 other sites along Confederation Boulevard will sparkle with more than 300,000 dazzling lights during the Holiday Season.  On opening night, join us on Parliament Hill at 6pm for the illumination ceremony.

Owen Sound has a History of Local resident Sally Sargent was quoted in a past Sun Times article as saying it was fairly easy to determine who worked for Noma Lites during the 1950s and early '60s in Owen Sound. “You'd be able to drive down the street and see all of the homes all lit up with lights and you would know they worked at Noma. . . . You'd almost have to wear sunglasses when you went by some of the houses.”

Light Up the Park

An annual event to start our Festive Season. Free turkey draws and hot chocolate. Music and caroling starting at 6:30 pm with a local student receiving the honor of lighting up the whole park, followed by a visit from Santa. Come join the celebration.
