These areas serve as year round destinations for thousands of canoeists, campers, hikers, day trippers, fisherman, hunters, cottagers snowmobilers, skiers and snowshoers providing significant backcountry recreational and conservation values. The Haliburton Highlands Water Trails is dedicated to the protection and improvement of the canoe route and camping environment throughout the Haliburton Highlands.
