36th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony - November 19, 2011 5pm-9pm

Barrie's Tree Lighting Celebration is taking place in conjunction with the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce's Santa Claus Parade at Memorial Square on Saturday November 19th 2011 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. While watching the parade, the whole family can partake in festive activities including carol singing, horse drawn wagon rides, musical performances and free hot chocolate with a non-perishable donation. The Tree Lighting and Fireworks will take place in Memorial Square when Santa's float arrives between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Santa will return to Memorial Square for a visit with the kids
Barrie lights up along Kempenfelt Bay's Lakeshore Drive on Lake Simcoe starting the weekend of November 19, 2011 through until the spring of 2012. See the Barrie Festival of Trees and Lights where some of the 50,000 lights which form the Festival of Trees Display at Centennial Park will be five animated displays. A Barrie shopping trip for Christmas New Year  holiday gifts could involve an overnight stay in featured Barrie hotels, resorts and romantic inns.
